Rugby Values Prevail

Having painted several key Exeter Chiefs players and their director of Rugby, I decided to send an old fashioned letter direct to Rob Baxter, in charge of the leading rugby club in England and Europe last season.

The missive explained what I paint and requested that in return for a figure each, I would like them to sign one for me and return them to Herefordshire.

Similar approaches to clubs in the past have remained unanswered, so it was great to hear back from Rob himself within a few days, saying that he had looked at the website and would be more than happy to organise signatures from Jonny Hill, Stewart Hogg and Henry Slade.

The figures were despatched and I even had an e-mail from Rob to say that two of the figures had minor damage that that he was going to give these to players to repair and send me the undamaged signed figures!

Suffice it to say this brief contact with the Exeter Chiefs has done much to restore my faith in the traditional values of rugby football...
